Most backend engineers stop at the API. We work the protocol layer: LDAP, NTLM, IMAP, SMTP, POP3, XMPP, EWS/EAS/MAPI, gRPC, protobuf, SignalR, OAuth2. Useful when the integration problem is not at the application boundary.

SJAZ Development LLC is a technology and development consulting practice led by Spencer Jones, based in Glendale, Arizona. Five-plus years building enterprise data systems, high-availability platforms, and self-hosted infrastructure. Go is the primary language, backed by deep C#/.NET and T-SQL experience and protocol-level work across mail, identity, and integration boundaries.
The LLC exists to do the work that has always been the best fit: making existing software earn its keep, on terms that preserve the agency to do it well. Own the tools, measure what matters, refuse the work that can’t be done honestly.

We run our own stack (Gitea, ERPNext, Wakapi to Prometheus to Grafana), not a pile of SaaS dependencies. The same discipline we bring to client work: own your tools, measure what matters, automate the rest.

Honest scope
We will tell you when the existing tools can't be wired up to meet the bar, because we've done the research and walked away from an engagement that couldn't. Refusing to over-promise is the cheapest credibility there is.
